Positive numbers for Choice

Choice Hotels International, of Rockville, which franchises more than 6,300 hotels in the United States and other countries, posted increases in net income and revenue for the last quarter of 2014 and for the year. Net income rose 8 percent, to $25.3 million, or 43 cents per diluted share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $23.4 million and 40 cents for the prior-year period. For 2014, net income finished at $123.2 million, or $2.10 per diluted share, also up 8 percent over 2013’s $113.7 million and $1.93. Choice reported revenue for the quarter at $185.4 million and for the year at $758 million, compared with 2013’s $168.8 million and $724.6 million. Revenue per available room, or RevPAR, ended the year at $45.80, up from $42.20 for 2013.
