UMBC, Naval Academy join forces for cybersecurity research

Officials from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the U.S. Naval Academy said Tuesday that the schools will collaborate on cybersecurity research efforts. "The Naval Academy has wonderful researchers and so do we," said UMBC President Freeman Hrabowski, who co-signed a research and development agreement Tuesday with Vice Admiral Ted Carter, the academy's superintendent. "We're collaborating to build strength for America," Hrabowski said. Carter has wanted to build a partnership between the two institutions since he became superintendent nearly a year ago, he said.
