The governor and speaker of the House of Delegates may not have the most tension-free relationship but that doesn’t mean that it’s not without its moments.
House Speaker Michael Busch Tuesday praised Gov. Larry Hogan and Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford for the state response during the riot in Baltimore which resulted in a nearly 10-day state of emergency.
“I want to thank you and the lieutenant governor for stepping up in this period of crisis and stabilizing the situation in Baltimore,” Busch told Hogan before a bill signing in the State House.
Busch also praised the work of Maryland State Police Superintendent William Pallozzi and Major Gen. Linda Singh, who commands the Maryland National Guard.
“Hopefully we can all move forward from here,” Busch said.
