Brittany S. Gay, 28, is an aerospace engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center, where she oversees data analyses for satellite and telecommunications systems.
She also remains active in Prince George’s County, where she taps into her passions for science, technology, engineering and math, as well as educating youth, by speaking about her career and engaging students in STEM activities. She also is a math instructor at Kumon Learning Center of Bowie.
Gay also is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Psi Epsilon Omega graduate chapter and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in space systems engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
In 20 years she hopes to be serving as the education and STEM lead for NASA headquarters.
“Our children are the future, so we need to help them successfully get there. I will accomplish this dream by continuing to mentor, tutor and do educational outreach to as many individual as I can,” Gay said.
