New subpoena forms are coming! New subpoena forms are coming!

While many of you were in Ocean City “for business” Friday, the Maryland Judiciary announced it will be rolling out a uniform subpoena form starting July 1.

Lawyers will be able to access the form electronically if they are registered to e-file, meaning they will no longer have to go the courthouse and pick them up. (Paper forms still will be available in courthouses for pro se litigants, according the Judiciary.)

The uniform subpoena was after the Court of Appeals adopted rules to provide one subpoena for circuit courts and district court, according to the Judiciary. The new forms will print with “each jurisdiction’s corresponding circuit court or district court seal and clerk’s signature,” according to the Judiciary.
