Bethesda-based Marriott International is producing a new, off-beat web video series to debut Moxy Hotels, its lifestyle brand, in the U.S. market.

The series, called “DO NOT DISTURB,” is hosted by Taryn Southern, a comedian and singer whose YouTube channel has close to 450,000 subscribers.

Filming for the series will be next week at YouTube’s studios in Los Angeles, concurrently with VidCon, a convention of YouTube creators.

“DO NOT DISTURB” is set in a mock-up of a Moxy guestroom, where Southern will interview and gossip with celebrities about their careers, travel habits and quirky experiences on the road.

This partnership … speaks to the playful nature of the Moxy Hotels brand,” said David Beebe, vice president, creative and content marketing at Marriott International, in a statement announcing the videos.

Marriott plans to show the episodes at moxyhotels.com and Moxy’s YouTube channel in September. The company also plans to open 10 Moxy hotels in the U.S. market in 2016, including one in Washington.
