Jacqueline Allen Brooks, a senior associate at Saul Ewing LLP, has developed a reputation as a top corporate and finance attorney.

Brooks, 34, counsels clients in mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of businesses, commercial finance, private offerings of debt and equity securities, life science transactions and governance issues regarding real estate investment trusts.

Brooks, who was selected as a 2014-2015 fellow of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy, also is passionate about community service and pro bono work.

As part of the MSBA Leadership Academy program, Brooks and her other fellows spearheaded a pro bono small business boot camp in West Baltimore, which provided aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small business owners with seminars about business planning and law that are important for forming and operating a small business. Participants also received free legal advice regarding starting a business or existing issues in their small business.

Brooks recently received the Alex Fee Pro Bono Award, given by MSBA, based on her pro bono contribution. She also mentors Baltimore City high-school students through Community Law in Action, volunteers with the Homeless Persons Representation Project to assist those that are homeless or at risk of being homeless with having their criminal records expunged and serves as a board member of the Homeless Persons Representation Project and the American Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region.
