Katherine Pinkard is the fourth generation in her family to be involved in Baltimore commercial real estate.

“It was a big decision to go out on our own,” said Pinkard, 33, who founded Pinkard Properties in 2012 along with her father, Greg.

Her commercial real estate company specializes in third-party property management and community-centric development projects.

Pinkard said that as a Maryland state certified woman-owned firm, her goal is to inspire other young women to get into real estate development.

“Women are not well-represented in this industry,” she said.

Pinkard also is the Vice-Chair of the board of the American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake Region, board president of the Homewood Museum and is a volunteer with the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Trauma Survivor’s Network. In 2014, along with a good friend in the industry she co-founded an organization called FIRE (Females in Real Estate.)

“I take pride in my achievements being two-fold: inspiring other young women to join or get further involved in the real estate industry and inspiring the next generation of young professionals to get involved in philanthropy and volunteerism in the Greater Baltimore community,” she said.
