Cumberland supports plan for medical marijuana operation

CUMBERLAND — A firm that has an option on part of the old Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. plant hopes to establish a medical marijuana indoor growing and processing operation there.

Peak Harvest Health hopes to obtain one of 15 licenses available in Maryland for medical marijuana.

Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim and the City Council approved a resolution Tuesday affirming support for PHH’s application.

The Times-News of Cumberland reports that the plant could employ 100 people once it is fully operational.
