RWN Development Group, the latest owner of the former Bourbon Street and Hammerjacks building at 316-318 Guilford Ave., believes this former nightclub is ready for a new use.
Michael R. McNeill, RWN’s vice president of leasing and sales, said executives envision the building as a mix of office and retail use. He specifically believes the building’s relatively open floor plan, exposed brick walls and mechanical elements will make it attractive for creative firms, such as an architecture or tech company. The building also features a unique roof top deck and has quick access to Interstate 83.
“I think it would be great for the work where you live crowd,” McNeill said.
The firm bought the property earlier this summer at auction after its previous owners were unable to successfully market the building as office space.
The owners, who have hired an architect to help reimagine the building’s interior, want to see a high end retailer in the space. The idea of a nightclub going back in the spot is not being considered, but McNeill said he could see a variety of uses that range from a restaurant to a smaller grocery store.
“It’s ideal for a local restaurant owner that’s looking for a cool space,” he said.
