Report: Good news for Baltimore industrial market

Job numbers from the Baltimore region in October are providing reason to be optimistic about commercial real estate in the area.

According to a report from JLL, after nearly a year-and-a-half of muted job growth in the trade, transportation and utilities sector, last month job numbers were positive.

“Trade, Transportation & Utilities finally posted significant job growth, which suggests the recent uptick in industrial leasing may be sustained through the fourth quarter,” according to the report.

That’s good news for warehouse and logistics projects in the metro area because so many in the pipeline have been built on speculation.

The report also reveals positive news for the office sector last month. After what it calls a “sluggish” start in 2015, particularly in the financial activities sector, those firms are now the “leader” in the office sector.
