Under Armour has designed “Navy Fleet”uniforms and hand-painted helmets to be worn by the Navy football team in its game against Army on Dec. 12.
The uniforms are inspired by historic ships in the U.S. Naval Fleet. Each ship is hand-painted on one of the seven helmets the players will wear. The rally cry, “damn the torpedoes!” is on the uniform as an homage to Admiral Farragut’s Naval victory at the Battle of Mobile Bay in 1864, according to a statement from Navy Athletics.
The Navy football team unveiled the uniform and helmets on its website and on social media Monday afternoon.
