Frederick woman sentenced to 15 months in prison for stealing $150K from employer

A former executive assistant to a CEO of a Montgomery County-based company was sentenced Thursday to 15 months in prison for stealing more than $150,000 from her employer.

Diane Jansen, 54, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to repay the money by U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte.

Jansen, of Frederick, worked at the company, which federal prosecutors declined to name, between 2008 and 2012. Jansen would use an American Express card linked to the CEO’s account to purchase items for her personal use, according to prosecutors. She then got reimbursement from the company, claiming the purchases were for the CEO or the CEO’s family, according to prosecutors.

Jensen used the CEO’s signature stamp to authorize the expenditures. She also had access to the CEO’s bank accounts and stole tens of thousands of dollars, according to prosecutors.
