High court finds ‘constructive possession,’ reinstates drug, gun convictions

A sharply divided Maryland high court has reinstated drug- and gun-possession convictions of Hyattsville roommates, saying a jury validly concluded they had “constructive possession” of the contraband in the one-bedroom apartment’s common areas, including the kitchen, bathroom and a hallway closet.
