The Maryland Technology Development Corp. (TEDCO) is searching for a new CEO following the resignation of President and Executive Director Robert A. Rosenbaum.
Rosenbaum has left to pursue other interests, the organization announced Friday.
John Wasilisin, who has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of TEDCO since 2007, will now serve as both president and COO.
A nationwide search will be conducted for a new CEO, Newt Fowler, TEDCO’s board chair, said in a statement.
“John has a long and distinguished leadership career in business and government service, including 38 years in economic and workforce development,” Fowler said.
TEDCO, created in 1998 by the state legislature, provides support and seed funding to develop startup companies in the Maryland tech sector.
“I have every confidence that TEDCO will continue to be the lead source for entrepreneurial business assistance and seed funding in Maryland, helping to foster in the development of startup companies that are the heart of this state’s innovation economy,” Wasilisin said in a statement.
