Dropping the Mike: The Armory

When the zombie apocalypse hits, let’s just say a certain leader of the Maryland Senate stands ready.

Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. Wednesday mentioned what sounds like an extensive and impressive weapons collection during a news conference in which he and House Speaker Michael E. Busch announced support for a three-pack of what they called “common sense gun legislation.”

Miller used the moment to talk his ownership of firearms and his personal belief that the bills being supported wouldn’t infringe on the rights of gun owners.

“I’m one of the few people up here that is a gun owner,” said Miller. “Those of you have been to my house have seen an armory – wall full of guns, swords, knives, shotguns, whatever. They’re for display. They’ve been used for hunting. At times they’ve been used for target practice and if necessary, defense of a family home.”

One thing is certain, there wont be any unannounced press visits to the Miller compound any time soon.
