Craft Concepts at Green Spring Station passing torch to new women’s boutique

One of Green Spring Station’s earliest store owners is retiring this year to make way for a new women’s boutique at the Lutherville shopping center dedicated to women-owned small businesses.

In April, Robin Cohen will open her second location of Boutique W where Craft Concepts, a clothing and accessories boutique, has been for more than 36 years. Cohen and co-owner Clive Baron have another store in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

Carole Halverstadt, owner of Craft Concepts, was one of the first tenants at Green Spring Station. Halverstadt first opened the store in 1979 as a craft gallery with a woman she had known for just two days, also named Carole. The two parted ways about 25 years ago, and Halverstadt converted the store to what it is today.

“Thanks to Carole, this is all possible. I hope to continue and evolve the legacy that Carole is leaving behind,” said Cohen.

Craft Concepts will close at the end of the month. Renovations are underway at the 1,600 sq. ft. space by Seabolt and Son LLC, said Green Spring Station in a press release.
