The Daily Record today announced its 2016 Top 100 Women.
The awards program will be held April 18 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.
Since 1996, Top 100 Women has recognized outstanding women leaders who are not only leading the way professionally but are dedicating their time and energy to community work as well as mentoring.
Nearly 350 women were nominated for the honor statewide. This year, of the 100 selected, 64 are first-time recipients and 15 women will be inducted in the Circle of Excellence, meaning they are receiving the award for the third and final time.
Nominees were asked to complete an application outlining their educational and career history, professional and community involvement, corporate and nonprofit board memberships, and mentoring experiences.
They were encouraged to submit letters of recommendation from those who are familiar with their accomplishments professionally, in the community and through mentoring.
A panel of judges comprised of business professionals and past Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners reviewed the applications and selected this year’s honorees.
“This year’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women are extraordinary,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “They go above and beyond in everything they do. They lead companies, create change, break barriers, chart new territory and make a difference at home, at work and in their communities. They inspire those around them to be the best they can be. The Daily Record is pleased to honor them.”
