ANNAPOLIS — A Maryland Senate committee will be holding a hearing on gun-control measures.

U.S. Rep. Chris Van Hollen is scheduled to testify Wednesday in favor of a bill to ban guns on college campuses.

Van Hollen, a Democrat, also supports a bill to prevent people on the FBI Terrorist Watchlist from buying firearms.

He also supports a measure requiring judges to inform people found guilty of domestic violence to turn in their firearms to law enforcement or an authorized gun dealer.

The measures are priorities this session for Democratic leadership, which controls the Maryland General Assembly.

Gun-control bills are being heard in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee.
