Rebecca J. Berger, Mallory L. Montgomery and Jake T. Niemyer have joined Baltimore-based law firm Gallagher Evelius & Jones LLP as associates.
Berger is a member of the firm’s real estate and business transactions group, advising clients on commercial real estate transactions with a focus on commercial lending, general corporate representation, affordable housing and real estate development. She also assists in the firm’s work with developers, owners, equity investors and contractors in residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate development projects, from land acquisition through development, construction, operating and disposition.
Montgomery’s practice focuses on health care law and she works primarily with hospitals and other health care institutions on business, regulatory and compliance matters. She advises health care clients on federal and state regulatory matters, including anti-kickback and physician self-referral (Stark) laws and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. She also works with clients on matters relating to physician arrangements, privacy and security of health information and clinical research involving human subjects.
Niemyer is a member of the firm’s real estate and business transactions group, where he represents developers, owners and equity investors in all facets of senior housing assisted living, residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate projects. Niemyer also represents lenders and business creditors in a full range of commercial financing transactions, including real estate, asset-based and health care lending.
