Ocean City coastal highway resurfacing nears completion

OCEAN CITY — The resurfacing of 4.7 miles of Coastal Highway in Ocean City is on track to be completed before the Memorial Day weekend.

WBOC-TV reports that the project was ahead of schedule and on track to be finished Monday, but rain has now pushed Maryland State Highway Administration officials’ estimated end date to Friday, barring more rain.

The deadline is the Memorial Day weekend.

The project involves the application of 90,000 linear feet of new striping and 8,300 square feet of new symbols and letters to mark crosswalks and bike and bus lanes.

The affected area runs from the Delaware state line to 62nd Street near MD 90.
