Under Armour has extended its partnership with 2012 NL MVP Buster Posey in a multi-year deal, the Baltimore athletic company announced Wednesday. The San Fransisco Giants catcher has been with Under Armour since he became a professional baseball player in 2008.
Posey is the second player ever to win Rookie of the Year, National League MVP and three World Series titles, and the first to do so by the age of 28.
“Buster is everything a team could ask for in a model baseball player, and Under Armour is proud to be his long-term partner,” said Ryan Kuehl, vice president of global category sports marketing at Under Armour.
Through his renewed partnership, Posey will be the face of Under Armour’s exclusive baseball collection with Dick’s Sporting Goods. He will continue to wear Under Armour baseball gear on field and in training, and promote the brand’s Connected Fitness platform and MLB licensed apparel gear.
“Under Armour has been by my side through the last seven incredible years, and I can’t wait to see what comes next,” said Posey. “I’m looking forward to continuing my relationship with Under Armour well into the future as we build on our shared commitment to performance and innovation by delivering great things to fans and aspiring athletes worldwide.”
