Veteran Supreme Court reporter Lyle Denniston will join the University of Baltimore School of Law faculty this fall as the Wilson H. Elkins Professor of Academic Transformation with the university’s Bank of America Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching and Technology.

Denniston will deliver a series of six lectures during the coming academic year, the first three of which will focus on the Supreme Court and American politics, the law school announced Tuesday. The first lecture is set to be held in September to mark Constitution Day.

Denniston, who most recently worked at SCOTUSblog, began covering the Supreme Court in 1958 and has previously written for The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, The Baltimore Sun, American Lawyer, The Washington Star, The Nebraska City News-Press and The Lincoln (Neb.) Journal.

He recently joined the nonprofit National Constitution Center and will also serve as a full-time Supreme Court correspondent for the center’s Constitution Daily blog.
