The Peabody Apartments, which head for auction later this month, offer potential investors gross potential annual rent of $259,392.

The 15-unit apartment building in Baltimore’s Charles Village is unique because of its wider hallways, high ceilings and larger common areas.

“What I like about it a lot is that this was originally built as luxury apartments,” Matthew Cooper, broker at Alex Cooper Auctioneers said. “It has that historic charm to it.”

An open house is scheduled for the property at 2 p.m. July 13. The auction is set for 11 a.m., July 21.

Demand for apartments is high in the area because of nearby Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus. Peabody Apartments are listed on the university’s approved list of off-campus housing.

Another unique feature of the building is that it has a roughly 2,500-square-foot ground floor retail space, which is currently occupied by a long-time tenant, the Schnapp Shop liquor store.
