ROCKVILLE — The 911 system in Montgomery County is functional again after it failed for unclear reasons.
County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer tells local media that the 911 system failed late Sunday night, but was restored by about 1:40 a.m. Monday.
Piringer says callers might still get a busy signal if they try to call 911. Should that happen, he says callers should report emergencies directly to local police stations and firehouses.
Pirinder has posted a link on the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Twitter feed to a listing of phone numbers for police stations and firehouses.
