CUMBERLAND — A laboratory startup business based in the Baltimore area is relocating to the western Maryland city of Frostburg.
Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine told the Cumberland-Times News Tuesday that Advent Laboratories Inc. will move by October to the Allegany Business Center technology park at Frostburg State University.
Advent CEO Kimberly Brown says the company will provide at least 20 jobs within a year of the move.
The University of Maryland-Baltimore County website lists Advent as an incubator company at its Halethorpe campus.
Brown is also the CEO of Amethyst Technologies LLC, which provides regulatory compliance services to the biotechnology and health-care industries. Amethyst is based at the UMBC Research and Technology Park in Catonsville.
