Baltimore is negotiating a contract with a new operator for concert venue Pier Six Pavilion in the city’s Inner Harbor.
The Baltimore Development Corp. is in talks with Live Nation & SMG to manage, promote and produce live entertainment at the venue. The contract to operate Pier Six is for seven years starting next year.
“I would like to thank the Rams Head Group for their hard work and dedication over the last decade to successfully reposition Pier Six as premier concert venue,” said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in a news release. “I am confident that Live Nation & SMG will be able to further build on that success.”
According to the Baltimore Development Corp., the request for proposal seeking an operator included the following stipulations that the contractor must:
- Provide a range of affordable family friendly live entertainment events for Baltimore area residents and tourists
- Maximize the number of live events and the length of the season
- Maximize financial returns to the City and jobs for Baltimore City residents
- Utilize sponsorship opportunities to fund capital improvements and venue upgrades
