Dr. Stacy Suskauer, associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation and pediatrics at Johns Hopkins and co-director of the Center for Brain Injury Recovery at Kennedy Krieger Institute, will receive the 2016 Joshua B. Canton Scholar Award. The award is presented by the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine in recognition of outstanding research that is judged to be a significant contribution to the field of brain injury rehabilitation. Suskauer, who joined Johns Hopkins in 2007, is also director of the Brain Injury Clinical Research Center at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Her research focus is to better understand and improve outcomes after childhood brain injury. She is currently working toward identifying neuroimaging and behavioral biomarkers to assess and understand recovery and long-term outcome.
