Under Armour and Jordan Spieth unveiled the 2015 PGA Player of the Year’s first golf shoe, the Spieth One, at a launch event in Tokyo on Tuesday.
The event was part of a multi-country global tour that has the Under Armour team and Spieth visiting Japan, South Korea, Los Angeles and Mexico in the coming weeks, the Baltimore sports giant said in a press release.
The Spieth One is has waterproof upper to prevent water from entering the shoe, but allow perspiration to escape, “Rotational Resistance Traction” to prevent rotation of the foot during the swing from load up to impact, one-seam upper made with a single seam to reducing layers and weight without compromising on fit and feel and a outsole with a soft forefoot and firm heel, Under Armour said.
The specifications are outlined in a new ad campaign for the shoe titled “Down to a Science.”
The Spieth One will debut at retail on March 1 after the world tour and will be available for purchase at UA Brand Houses worldwide and on UA.com for $200. A limited-edition Spieth One will be available in Japan today at Under Armour Brand Houses and UA Japan’s e-commerce site.
