Greater Baltimore Medical Center nurse Laura Clary was named one of five finalists for “America’s Most Amazing Nurse,” a competition run by Prevention magazine and “The Doctors” TV show.
Clary runs GMBC’s Sexual Assault Forensic Examination program, seeing patients who have been victims of sexual assault, child abuse, rape, human trafficking, intimate partner violence and domestic violence.
“Just being nominated is a defining moment in my career because of my role and the patient population I represent,” Clary said in a statement. “Providing care is a true challenge for all of our patients, and I take great pride in leading a team of nurses that are able to service them and provide quality care to them.”
As a finalist, Clary will receive $1,000 toward the charity of her choice; she chose the Baltimore County Child Advocacy Center.
The winner of the “America’s Most Amazing Nurse,” who will be revealed May 12, will receive a free trip to Iceland.
