McKeldin Square scheduled to reopen

McKeldin Square at Light and Pratt streets in downtown Baltimore is scheduled to officially reopen on Thursday.

The park at the heart of Baltimore’s traditional central business district will be open to the public again following a $4 million renovation. The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, which oversaw the design and construction of the project, plans to host an event celebrating the completion of the park’s overhaul.

“This important public space, the epicenter of Baltimore festivals, parades, and civic engagement, will be even more accommodating for residents, office workers, tourists, and special events with the creation of a massive, Chesapeake Bay-friendly greenspace with ample terraced seating, shade trees, lighting, and public art,” according to announcement from the partnership.
