UnitedHealthcare has chosen Bowie-based Inovalon Holdings Inc.’s Inovalon One health care analytics cloud platform to look at data from its Medicare Advantage and commercial membership.

The five-year engagement lets UnitedHealthcare to use real-time data visualization to inform its decisionmaking for its clinical quality programs, and will help with health programs for the Minnesota health care company’s more than 30 million members.

William A. Hagan, president of United Clinical Services, said the company would achieve scale and analytical processing speeds that were not possible before, which it would use to more quickly produce clinical insights and improve quality for its members.

Inovalon says its platforms are informed by data of more than 858,000 physicians, 377,000 clinical facilities, and more than 230 million Americans.
