Monise A. Brown
Monise A. Brown, a 2004 graduate of George Washington University Law School, is happy she has been able to help many families since becoming a family magistrate in 2014, when she was just 34 years old.
“I have always had a passion for family law, so getting the opportunity to help families resolve conflicts was truly an honor for me,” she said.
Brown conducts evidentiary hearings and writes findings and recommendations in divorce, custody, visitation, and child support cases, as well as any modifications. “I work diligently every day,” she said. “I am kind and patient, and allow each party to tell their story without prejudice or bias.”
Brown is also a mentor to young attorneys. “I have introduced young attorneys to the bar associations in which I am involved, and encouraged them to develop their leadership talents,” she said. “In my community, I have helped others in need and provided guidance to students looking for direction and assistance in developing their career paths. I work very hard to improve the legal field by promoting fairness and justice.”
