Md. nuclear power training firm makes $8.75M acquisition

A maker of simulation and training systems for the nuclear power industry based in Sykesville has acquired a provider of technical consulting and staffing for the same industry.

GSE Systems Inc. bought Absolute Consulting Inc. of Navarre, Florida, for  $8.75 million in cash, subject to a post-closing working capital adjustment.

Absolute Consulting employs about 200 workers who perform procedure writing, engineering, technical support, project management, training, project controls, and corrective actions.

Kyle Loudermilk, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement that the acquisition boosts GSE’s position as a provider of training and consulting for the nuclear power industry.
