Betamore @ City Garage
Betamore, an award-winning coworking space, incubator and campus for technology and entrepreneurship in Baltimore City, recently expanded to a new campus, Betamore @ City Garage. The idea for the second Betamore location was born out of a fundraising event the company held with Sagamore Ventures in 2015, and the partnership has since grown into the new campus.
Betamore Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Meyer said the new space allows Betamore to offer opportunities to launch and build successful businesses with an emphasis on increasing education program and workforce development efforts.
Meyer said the expansion allows people to learn a variety of skills under one roof. “Our education programming will grow to include cutting-edge STEM classes and workshops including coding, 3D printing, woodworking and welding that are unique to that location,” she said. “This will create an optimal space for companies focused on product innovations to tackle their hardware, software, and business needs all in one place.”
When the second campus was announced, there was an outpouring of interest from metro area entrepreneurs, the CEO said. So far, 11 new businesses have moved into the facility, which in turn is growing jobs in the Baltimore community. The company offers daily tours of the facility, and applications for membership are proving successful.
