Assistant Attorney General
Maryland Office of the Attorney General
As an assistant attorney general representing higher education institutions in Maryland, Julia Carolan has found her law career to be rewarding. She extends herself beyond her full-time professional duties.
In her spare time, she works with the Maryland State Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Committee to mentor new attorneys. From 2012 to 2016, she was named Rising Star of General Litigation by Maryland Super Lawyers.
What makes Carolan stand out most is her creation of the nonprofit Bmore Together. Disheartened by the rhetoric after the 2016 presidential election, Carolan created Bmore Together to raise funds for causes that “need a stronger voice.” The organization has raised over $23,000 for Planned Parenthood of Maryland, Maryland Immigration Rights Coalition, the Trevor Project and MCVET.
“One of the things I have always loved about Julia is that she is not someone who is willing to sit on the sidelines and watch things happen,” says Janet Berg, marketing director for BMore Together.
