Law Office of Chantal M. Joseph

Chantal Joseph began her legal career in 2004 at the Baltimore City Office of the Public Defender, where her knowledge of law and her advocacy for the poor earned her a reputation as “warrior of the poor.”

After nine years as assistant public defender, Joseph opened her private practice in 2014. She handles criminal, civil and immigration matters. She is active with The Alliance of Black Women Attorneys and the Monumental Bar Association, both of which are committed to mentorship, community outreach and service.

“To some it may be easy, but for me, deciding to hang my shingle and open up my solo practice is my most significant professional accomplishment,” Joseph says. “While I enjoyed my time at the public defender’s office, I realized that there was another vulnerable population that I can truly assist, immigrant children seeking to reach the American dream. I continued my commitment to serving the underrepresented by partnering with Catholic Charities and handling pro bono cases where I have represented some truly vulnerable clients.”
