Nakeia Drummond’s commitment to Baltimore is personal.
“I rise every day fully determined to do the work that improves the lives of and opportunities of children in underserved communities and empowers the women who carry them,” she says.
Drummond, who was born in the Cherry Hill neighborhood, founded her own company, NLD Strategic, after working for Baltimore City Public Schools for 10 years in various roles. NLD Strategic with community development, education organizations and local startups for the betterment of the Baltimore community.
“She is at home working with community development corporations and brings significant credibility to the work. She will engage with any community member trying to solve some of the complex issues facing our city,” says Roger Schulman, president and CEO of Fund for Educational Excellence.
Drummond graduated this year from Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program, where she developed plans for a network to foster collaboration among black female business owners nationally with Baltimore as the hub.
“Being a thriving entrepreneur has always been my dream, and I can proudly say I’m living my dream and inspiring others to take risks on themselves as well,” she says.
