Baltimore lags East Coast in $1M home sales

The number of homes sold for at least $1 million in Baltimore in the past three years lags far behind other East Coast metros, according to the website Property Shark.

New York City leads the East Coast in terms of high-dollar home sales, posting 31,613 homes closed for more than $1 million. Washington was in second place with 2,759 such sales followed by Boston with 2,529 sales.

During that same time frame there were 138 homes that sold for at least $1 million in the Baltimore. That’s well below the next highest metro area, Philadelphia, which had 260 such homes sold, but more than Jacksonville, where only 91 homes sold for at least $1 million.

The analysis included cities with more than 300,000 people and included single-family, condominiums and co-op units.
