Jon Laria, managing partner of Ballard Spahr’s Baltimore office, has been named chairman of the city’s Maryland Building Industry Association chapter.
The industry group represents home builders, remodelers and developers to increase business opportunities. The chapters also monitor local legislation, regulation changes and lobby local government on behalf of the industry.
“I’m honored to be selected as chair and to advocate for the building and development industry, a critically important driver of economic development and the overall economy of our region,” Laria said in a statement. “MBIA will continue to be a strong advocate in Baltimore for an efficient, equitable, and predictable development process. We want Baltimore to be seen as a desirable place to invest and build.”
