More than 225 people gathered at The Center Club in downtown Baltimore Dec. 19 to recognize the 26 honorees of The Daily Record’s inaugural Icon Honors awards.
The awards honor business leaders over the age of 60 for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership, both within and outside their chosen field. The honorees were also selected for their sustained commitment to community service and mentoring.
“Each of our honorees has qualities we all aspire to emulate and accomplishments we admire,” Daily Record publisher Suzanne E. Fischer-Huettner said. “They are leaders in their respective fields and bring promise to those who benefit from their hard work. They also challenge us to realize our hopes and dreams, and to meet our own goals. They are examples for all of us.”
The 2017 Icon Honors awards sponsor was the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The reception sponsors were Towson University and Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
Table sponsors were Acme Paper & Supply Inc.; Associated Black Charities; CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield; The Coordinating Center; Epsilon Registration; Goucher College; Greater Baltimore Committee; JLL; LifeBridge Health; Maryland Department of Commerce; Maryland Public Television; Murphy, Falcon & Murphy; Rifkin Weiner Livingston LLC; Rosemore Inc.; Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP; University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health; and VPC Inc.
