FEI Systems, an information technology company based in Columbia, has upgraded its web platform for substance abuse and mental health data with addiction assessment tools.

FEI’s WITS platform, which lets providers share client data, now integrates the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s software clinical decision support tools, called Continuum. The integration lets states and counties make reports on client level of care selection, outcomes, costs and access to care.

The tools include a co-triage referral tool  that recommends preliminary level of care placement to doctors. Another tool, the Continuum comprehensive assessment, performs an evaluation of patient needs along the six dimensions of the ASAM criteria before determining a final recommendation for level of care placement and facility use.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine is a professional society headquartered in Chevy Chase.
