The Leadership in Law awards are just around the corner, and we need your help!
Nominations for this year’s awards close Feb. 6. That’s right around the corner, so I’m going to say that again in bold to give this the appropriate sense of urgency: Nominations for this year’s awards close Feb. 6.
As we did last year, we have three categories now for the awards event, which will be held May 17 at the BWI Hilton:
The Leadership In Law award recognizes those individuals whose leadership, both in the legal profession and in the community, has made a positive impact on our state. Recipients of this award demonstrate outstanding achievement in these key areas: achievement in law; involvement in the profession; support of the community; and mentoring.
Generation J.D. honors Maryland’s up-and-coming attorneys who already are making a difference in their profession and in their communities. The Daily Record is using the Maryland State Bar Association’s Young Lawyer qualification for this award. An attorney may be under the age of 38 or be a member of the bar for less than five years to be considered.
The Lifetime Achievement award recognizes an attorney or judge whose body of work over their career makes them stand out. This person should be well respected in their profession, active in their community and dedicated to growing the next generation of legal leaders. The Lifetime Achievement award honoree each year will be selected by the Leadership in Law judging panel, comprised of past winners.
