Strong winds on Friday morning closed courts, stopped trains and closed federal offices in Maryland.

Prince George’s County circuit and district courts are closed, and Frederick County circuit and district courts are due to open at 10 a.m., according to the Maryland Judiciary.

Additionally, the Maryland Transit Administration suspended MARC trains on Friday, noting that trees were falling onto tracks and that there were some signal failures. The administration said it would decide later Friday about whether it would operate the Penn Line on Saturday.

Federal offices in the Washington area were closed Friday, according to the Office of Personnel Management. Emergency employees, and those who are ready to work remotely, must follow their agency’s policies, the office said.
