The Physicians Pavilion North on the Towson campus of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center was renamed in honor of longtime GBMC Supporter Bill Kahlert in a ceremony Feb. 19.

Dr. John B. Chessare, president and CEO of GBMC HealthCare, presented the permanent plaque display in the William E. Kahlert Physicians Pavilion North lobby to members of the Kahlert family, board members of The Kahlert Foundation and GBMC staff. The display features an image of Kahlert, his biography and the story of the Kahlert family’s connection to GBMC  along with  the debut of the new signage on the outside of the building.

For the past 17 years, the Kahlert family — Bill and Yvonne, Greg, Roberta and their children, Heather and Scott — have all been devoted supporters of GBMC and have given more than $13 million to the hospital. In 2014, the chapel located in the hospital was named the Yvonne Kahlert Chapel to celebrate and honor her legacy.
