Gustava E. Taler
Chief Operating Officer
Maryland Legal Aid
Gustava E. Taler created and developed the Maryland Legal Aid’s Lawyer in the Library program in response to the civil unrest in Baltimore in April 2015. Gustava recruited the branch library as an ideal partner to deliver much-needed legal services to some of the city’s most vulnerable citizens.
What began in that one library as a weekly program has grown into a multi-faceted program at the Legal Aid, working with libraries and other service-oriented groups statewide.
She has also founded and developed the Multi-ethnic Domestic Violence Project, under the auspices of the Women’s Law Center of Maryland.
