Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP
Timothy Hodge Jr. is ranked by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer for business in the field of corporate/mergers & acquisitions. He has a national reputation as a valued resource and outside general counsel for businesses in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
“It is very important that I give back to the Baltimore community, both in the business community and to charitable causes. I was born and raised in Baltimore and want us to be the best city we can be,” Tim said.
Tim counsels a wide range of businesses, from established industry leaders to emerging companies and entrepreneurs.
Last year, for example, he served as lead partner in a complex merger of Marks, Thomas Architects with a Richmond firm. He also closed a $250 million restructuring, debt refinancing and limited partnership formation for a client involving 15 affiliated entities.
From 2007 to 2016, Tim was a member of the Maryland Economic Development Commission. Also, as a member, secretary and legal counsel to the award-winning Betamore campus for technology and entrepreneurship, Tim helps support technology-based start-up companies.
Inspired by a scholarship opportunity he had received to attend college preparatory high school, Loyola Blakefield, Tim wished other young people the same “life-changing” chance. Therefore, he served as alumni association president of the school and then a trustee for six years. He has also held leadership roles with Catholic Charities. In 2016, he joined the board of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and last year joined the board of trustees of the Odyssey School, an independent K-8 school of students with dyslexia and language learning differences. He also devotes considerable time to mentoring the next generation of the state’s legal and business leaders.
His professional awards have included the International Business Leadership Award by the World Trade Institute in Baltimore, Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating: AV Preeminent Rated, two years among Maryland Super Lawyers, and SmartCEO magazine’s selection to Maryland’s Legal Elite.
