Mercy Medical Center recognized the winners of the Sisters of Mercy Nursing Awards May 10 during its annual recognition of National Nurses Week 2018 in the McAuley Plaza conference center at 301 St. Paul Place in downtown Baltimore.
Kim Bushnell, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, vice president and chief nursing officer; and Isatu Jalloh, RN, MSN, director of oncology, were on hand to congratulate the award winners.
Honored were Geh Alang, BSN, RN, BSC, AA won the Community Impact Award, which was presented by Sr. Helen Amos; Angela Chaney, BSN, RN, CCRN, won the Compassionate Caregiver Award, presented by Sr. Fran Demarco; Connie Mackowiak, BSN, RN, won the Nursing Leadership Award, presented by Sr. Elizabeth Anne Corcoran; and Andrea Staiti Angio, Cath-BSN, RN-RN BC, was recognized with the Nurse Visionary Award, presented by Sr. Fran Demarco.
Speakers at the event included Mercy Senior Vice President of Operations Susan Finlayson, DNP, MSN, RN, NE-BC and Dr. Sandy Kotiah, medical oncology and hematology. Juanita Baroya, MSN-PH, RN, CPAN, announced the Nursing Quality Summit Poster Award winners.
