New MVLS portal connects attorneys to Marylanders who need legal services

Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service has a new pro bono portal that connects volunteer attorneys to people in the state who need legal help.

The mobile-friendly portal shows cases in real time and is color-coded by case type and geographic region, MVLS said in a press release Tuesday.

“We are always looking for ways to increase the speed at which we can match Marylanders in need with the generous support of volunteer attorneys,” Executive Director Bonnie Sullivan, said in a statement. “Our refreshed Pro Bono Portal is a wonderful example of how we are evolving our technology to help more people.”

Current volunteer attorneys have already used the portal in an initial trial run, the organization said.

Attorneys interested in doing pro bono work can access the portal here and find a case the matches with their expertise and geographic location.
