Md. court: 911 calls immunize drug users from probation violation

Citing the legislature’s desire to prevent overdose deaths, Maryland’s second highest court ruled Wednesday that people cannot be prosecuted for violating probation if they were discovered using drugs because a concerned bystander made an emergency call to police.
